There are more and more styling and finishing products on the market each week to cater to every hair styling need. We have tried to simplify them into six main categories but these are only ment as an aid to understanding there use they are gels, mousses, hair sprays, waxes, pomades and oils/drops.
As a general guide hair styling products go into wet hair to give hold and help retain style. Hair finishing products go onto dry hair after you have finished blow-drying or between shampoos to recreate your style daily. Some products can be used for both. We have listed the use (styling or finishing) next to each product type when you click on a selection below you will get more detail on each:
Drops,
oil or Glass (Finishing)
What's it for? Provides
shine and smoothes out the "frizzes".
How's it used? Use
on damp or dry hair, place only a couple of drops (all of these
products go a very long way) in your palms then work around your
hands in a washing motion before you distribute through your hair.
Keep away from the roots unless they are very frizzy as can make
your hair look greasy.
How does it feel in your hair?
You should not really notice it and if it does feel greasy or
weighs your hair down, you have used too much or have hair that's
too fine for the weight of the product you are using. Cool it
on the amount used or try another brand or type.
Alternative ideas: They
are normally silicone based and can be mixed with other products
to add shine.
